This was an uncharacteristically busy weekend for me. Saturday I was at the Atlanta Cask Ale Tasting, an annual event I try not to miss. Sunday was the NHL All Star Game here in Atlanta which has been a long time coming. The All Star Game was initially awarded to the city for the 2004 season but that wound up being the season that was cancelled due to the lockout. I’ll post photos later this week for those of you interested. ...

Spam is so blatant most of the time but every once in a while one catches my eye for whatever reason. I got a typical one this morning with the subject “Your morttgage offers” that slipped past the spam filters and weaseled its way to my inbox. The misspelling of the subject line alone means that a) they’re misspelling on purpose to avoid a filter on spam buzzwords like “mortgage” or b) it’s originating in a country that doesn’t use English as their primary language.

As much as I love seeing movies at the theatre, being a parent puts a serious cramp in the frequency in which one can actually get to a theatre. This isn’t a huge issue since I enjoy seeing a movie on my good ol’ 57-inch high def television, but there are certain movies where I really would like to get out to see.
For me, movies since Ally was born fell into two categories.

If there was ever was an indicator I made the Right Choice when it came to switching to a Mac and worshipping at the Altar of Steve, my faith in Apple ratcheted up several notches last night as I helped my mother-in-law get her new laptop set up. Obviously all Windows-based PCs come with Vista now and while I could go on a rant about why Vista is truly a misstep by Microsoft for so many reasons, I don't want to bore the non- ...

You know you’re a dad when, during your lunch break, you head to Target (thankfully within walking distance of the new office) and fill up your cart with as much formula (a special kind for Katie's digestion issues that costs more per ounce than black market uranium) and Stage 1 baby food that your arms can carry. Even five short years ago my same arms would have been carrying bags of snacks and other assorted goodies for our childless household at the time. Instead of bags of CDs and DVDs and various electronic goodies, they’ve morphed into bags of diapers, tubes of Desitin, and assorted other creams/ointments/balms/salves used to treat wounds/dry skin/rashes/dirty clothes and whatnot.

My apologies to whichever blog came up with this first, as the person who sent this to me didn’t know where it originated, but here is a fun game. I've never posted things like this on my blog, as most are cheesy (and this one is too) but this one struck the right cord with me this morning.
1 - The first article title on the page is the name of your band.

Since you gave us Bears fans such grief this year, consider this.
At least the Bears got to the Super Bowl before losing to a Manning! And at least we lost to a legitimate Manning, not the "semi-stupid, grass in his teeth, aw shucks, what's this indoor plumbing thing, Poppy?" Manning.

The gauntlet was thrown down on Wednesday in the Comments section of the blog. The topic was bottled water but there was a reference by my good buddy Ian about how superior New York style pizza is compared to Chicago style. Another old school Chicagoan (Jason’s Mom – don’t worry, I won’t use your real name!) reminded us that flat square pizza is the original Chicago style pizza.
