I’ve got a new elevator behavior that I hadn’t posted previously. It’s not an annoying habit of others; rather it’s more of a curiosity. I’ve never understood the guy that stands with his nose a mere inch from either the front wall or door. If your breath creates fog on the elevator door, you’re too close. Why be this close to a public area where there have been multiple dirty hands and filthy coughs polluting the surface? Is it because of shyness that you don’t want to make eye contact? Is this person simply wanting to get out of the ele ...

The
park by us was busier than normal on Saturday morning and I had initially
attributed it to the Saturday morning kid soccer leagues playing. Then I noticed there were a bunch of
display-style tents pitched on the basketball court. As my daughter and I were playing catch, I
noticed an unnatural amount of wiener dogs passing by us on the way to the
tents. It was then that I realized it
was a wiener dog convention.
Now,
it was memorable enough to see 200+ wiener do ...

I love focus groups. I don’t recall how I got my foot in the door in Chicago but once I did one I was asked back a lot and it was easy cash for simply giving your opinion about a product. I hadn’t been part of one since moving down here but finally was invited to one for the Atlanta Spirit – the group that owns the Thrashers, Hawks, and Philips Arena. The topic was about them renovating a part of the arena that is an underutilized bar area.& ...

Every time you order a song
off iTunes, you get a confirmation email from Apple regarding your
purchase. Sometimes the title of a song
or album just doesn’t look right when placed elsewhere. Take, for instance, this classic Beastie Boys
song I purchased.
The intro to the song
randomly plays in my head, where a girl asks her teacher “Professor, what’s
another term for pirate’s treasure” and the reply, in a deep male voice is “Well,
I think it’s Booty (record scratch)… booty… (record scratch) booty… (record
scratch) booty."
Anyway, the bill made me

I encountered what had to be
the World’s Fastest Motorized Wheelchair the other day at the grocery
store. It was being run by a lady in
terms of what I can only describe as “dangerous speed” for being inside a
confined area with narrow aisles. To
begin with, I had no idea how fast certain wheelchairs can go and since they
obviously now can go just below the speed of light, there needs to be rules for
these speed demons when inside a public place.
I can understand the necessity to cross a busy street quickly but that same
speed shouldn’t be applied in the soup aisle at the local grocery store. This lady almost ran over me and my daughter
on at least 3 occasions during this particular trip.< ...
