As my youngest daughter is just getting her baby teeth in this week, it got me to thinking about our soon-to-be-eligible-for-free-money elder daughter. I’m assuming that the tooth fairy will be visiting our house within a year or so and was wondering what exactly is the going rate on teeth these days? Is it still a quarter since kids that age don’t have a grasp of what the actual value of money is? Or has the price of a tooth gone up to a crisp dollar bill? Has the rising cost of oil bumped up the price to an insane five dollars per tooth? Is the preferred placement of ...

It took me a few minutes to figure it out, but when I went to my GMail login screen today, the concept of time travel for email was introduced. I wasn’t paying attention to today’s date at the time, so I'll give Google credit for duping me. I'll simply jump into my time machine, go ahead an hour, and pretend I was never duped.

In terms of vague measurements we use in daily conversation, I got to wondering what the actual hierarchy should be for the following. What is bigger in terms of size – a Boatload, a Buttload, an Assload, or a Shitload?
Boatload – This signifies a large measurement as in “I had a boatload of fries at lunch”.

With movies being so subjective, I tend not to review them on this site but there is a documentary out there that simply is begging for me to spread the word. I had read very positive reviews about The King of Kong but with my Netflix queue being so full of other movies I want to see, documentaries as of late have gotten the brushoff. Earlier this week I decided to check it out via the Netflix Viewer (available for a small portion of their catalog) and after 5 minutes I was hooked.

A few years ago I ranked my top beers at the time and while I don’t want to bump any of those out of my hall of fame, I wanted to give a shout out to four breweries that have made their products available in Georgia after I wrote that initial blog post. These four breweries really stand out for reasons I’ll state below and if your state offers these brews, I highly recommend you give them a shot. During this terrible short ...

I apologize for the lack of posts this week but we are dealing with a sick infant since Friday. With her discomfort, all of our lack of sleep, and still having to put in a full workweek, blog entries for the next day or so will be spotty at best. Please bear with me as we try to figure out what is wrong with our daughter.

It can be argued either way that we have progressed or regressed when it comes to how people dress at work. Before I delve into this, let’s discuss a key overriding factor to all of this. Regardless of how one dresses, it’s your work output and quality that counts the most. Someone can be a snappy dresser and be an utterly inferior worker with a lack of work ethic. The smartest guys I’ve come across in the I.T. world tend not to be the most formal dressers and it makes no difference since they’re creating software code to make the world an easier place to live and work in.
