One thing I had accepted as fact once I approached my late 20s was that it was OK to “not get” what the younger kids were doing. That’s the whole point of being young – it’s not supposed to make sense to the older generations. They’re carving out their own identity and there is a need to be unique from their elders. While part of that equation is the reality that a lot of things kids do or songs they listen to are rehashes from previous eras, it’s still different to them based on what they know. We love movies because they allow us to escape from reality. Most summer and Christmastime movies are of the "turn your brain off and be bombarded by sight and sound on screen". There's absolutely nothing wrong with this but I do need to point out one stretch from reality that always is too farfetched for me.

While 2007 was a good year personally for our family, the same can’t be said about metro Atlanta. It truly was a crappy year and 2008 can’t possibly be any worse. So let’s recap 2007 for the city. I’m feeling cranky since this is my first day back at work in a week and a half.

I’ve always wondered why athletes and actors salaries are made public. I can understand why a CEO and other executive board members' salaries compensation are a matter of public record since they are part of companies that have to report to shareholders. With few exceptions, teams are not publicly traded companies or parts of corporate conglomerates.
