Here is a conversation I had today with the office that we normally have do our taxes.

(Me): Hi, I’d like to make a reservation for Saturday afternoon.

(Lady): What time would you like?

(Me): Do you have a 4 PM opening?

(sounds of keyboard tapping)

(Lady): No, but we do have a 3 PM slot.

(Me): I’m not sure my wife will be out of work by then.  What do you have after 4?

(Lady): Could you come in at 3 and then she could come in late?

(Me): I don’t think she’ll get out on time before we’re done.  Are there any 4:30 or 5 PM openings?

(sounds of more keyboard tapping)

(Lady): I have one at 4 o’clock. Would you like that?

(pause, while I digest this, trying not to laugh on the phone)

(Me): Yes.

(Lady): OK, sir, you are scheduled for an appointment at 4 this Saturday afternoon.

(Me): OK, I'll be there at FOUR this Saturday, right?  See you there.

Part of me was happy that I got the time slot we needed.  The other part of me is thankful this receptionist isn’t doing my taxes.  My only hope is that this office does it’s usual good job and doesn’t mess up.  Either that or they want to get out early on Saturday and scheduled multiple people for 4 PM in hopes that some won't show.

Whatever, [some pople are SO indecisive...] I only listen to my own latest question and answer. This is how I survive in this hellhole of tax doom.
