In the Wish I Had Thought Of It First department, two of the guys in my group did a funny thing that I inadvertently found out last week. If there’s one aspect that I like about working where I am now, it’s the same sense of humor that the group I’m in shares. Since we thankfully don’t have vending machines on our floor that would lead to impulse buying, we have a big bowl of peanuts.
So I had a mini-fistful of peanuts and as I opened up one, it didn’t have any nuts in it. In place of the peanuts was a fortune from a fortune cookie! The two guys, in lieu of fighting Friday evening traffic one day, stayed here and decided to convert 7 or 8 ordinary peanuts into fortune peanuts. I wound up being the first one to be blessed with opening up one.
The fortune? “Listen these next few days to your friends to get answers you seek.” Of course the flip side of that contains lottery numbers, which I don’t recall fortunes having back when I was growing up. I think that’s a relatively new phenomenon. Anyway, if anyone wins anything with 17, 21, 23, 25, 27 and 32, you owe me a percentage. You’re welcome.
I don’t know why my camera phone isn’t focusing today but here is a blurry photo of said object.
