An Ode to the Phone Browser Minimize

Is there anything handier during a boring meeting than a phone browser right now?  Even though browsing speeds are still rather slow and you won’t get a site’s complete bells and whistles, it still is a great way to avoid eye contact in places like an elevator.  It’s true saving grace arrives in the ability to pass time in tedious meetings where your mind is anywhere but that conference room.  You surreptitiously put it within reading distance and, voila, you are instantly transported from Dull Town.  Based on my experiences, the best position is to place one leg on top of the other man-style (one leg just above the ankle resting on top of just above the knee of the other leg), arms between the legs in a relaxed position holding your phone.

Oh great mini application

How I love your sweet temptation

When meetings are a snore

And conversation’s a bore

You give me online jubilation

Conference meeting chatter isn’t quiet

So my browser, I must try it

I begin my fun times

With the online Sun-Times

That Richard Roeper sure is a riot

If an elevator is too crowded

And everything’s being shouted

I bring the phone near my face

Blocking out the human race

In my own little world I am shrouded
