'Q.A.ing' Santa's cookies Minimize

It’s always interesting to get a child’s take on things, especially when it comes to mythical entities like Santa. In addition to her not wanting to be near Santa and yelling out her requests (see yesterday’s post), she also freaked out last Christmas Eve about Santa being in our house. She was so distraught about a stranger being in our house and she wouldn’t sleep until I promised her that I would leave Santa a note telling him to please leave the gifts on the front porch and I would bring them in myself and put them under the tree. Problem solved.

This year, as a 4 year old, she is much braver and is fine with Santa coming into the house. The nice thing about this is that it allowed her to leave cookies for Santa (chocolate chip, “Santa’s” favorite). What made this amusing is that prior to setting some on a plate, she wanted to check to make sure the cookies were OK for Santa. She told Megan that she just wanted two bites to make sure they were fine. As she took the cookie, she broke it in half, showed Megan one both pieces and said “This is one bite and this is another bite”. Damn! Can’t argue with that logic. Well played, Allison, well played.

In the “Pat Myself On The Back” Department, I put together Ally’s bike last night in just over an hour with no cuts to my hands, no broken pieces on the bicycle from forcing things where they shouldn't be, and, best of all, no swearing while putting it together! Even though the instructions were in 2-sized font and the pictures were smaller than an avatar on an instant message application, I managed to Not Screw It Up and I can say with 80% confidence that the bike is put together properly and safely. As for the 20% unconfidence? That’s what her helmet is for.

Another cute kiddie story. My GF bought a new bicycle last summer, but she's never used a skid lid, so I got her a Bell helmet for biking and a Bern Cougar lid for snowboarding... Cheapest life insurance you can buy! Believe me.

>(chocolate chip, “Santa’s” favorite)....so would you say that this is your "go to" cookie? ;) So who wants to bet that somewhere out there, some granola eating, tree hugging hippie types had their kids put out "Santa's Favorite" All-Natural tofu/veggie cookies because Santa is morbidly obese and that sends a bad message to the kids?

C'mon isn't it Oatmeal Raisin? Chocolate Chip is so late to the Christmas Party..........check with Famous Amos.

No way on all of the above. We are talking Rum Balls. He needs a little warmth from the inside. The little one gets to snack on the ones made with orange juice but Santa gets the full flavor.

Oh, great KB - now you're promoting drunken flying sleigh driving. Yeah, a few Rum balls wouldn't get anyone drunk, especially someone of Santa's considerable girth, but if you multiply those rumballs by the billions of housholds he visits, I am sure he'd blow at least.....well, he probably would blow chunks as all of that rum and milk curdled in his stomach.....yuch!

Could you say, then, that Santa tossed his cookies?

The best cookie is whatever you have on hand - Santa is not a picky eater.

The best advice - save/protect the brain you have.
