I didn’t have much time at lunch to compose anything today due to the following matter I’m taking care of.  My wife’s tire blew out on her Saturday.  Thankfully she was on a residential road and not the highway this time.  As you can see below, it blew out spectacularly.

Once again let me just say that all North American athletes can’t hold a candle to the toughness of hockey players.  I had to take a grainy snapshot last night with my phone of two frames from my paused DVR of San Jose Sharks captain Patrick Marleau.  He was completely steamrolled by a vicious but clean check from a Calgary Flames player and after he shook off the cobwebs, he stayed on the ice even as blood streamed from his eyes and nose.  In the second photo you can see how he simply wiped the blood from his nose and continued on with the next shift.  Can you imagine a baseball player toughing it out like that?  I didn’t think so.  Don’t even make me bring up the NBA, where if you breathe on someone it’s a foul.  Real men play on the ice.

Murph, you're spot-on!!! He's one of the "softer" players in the NHL yet he's still out there.

And one of the better looking. Go Sharks!

What exactly did that tire blow out of it's side wall - a stick? Damn.

Dude, Keep the hockey players and their sticks away from your tires.

Hmm, I didn't think about that. Perhaps it was revenge from a hockey player I kept too long in the penalty box?
