I apologize for the profanity in the title but when your air conditioning, that was supposedly "fixed" 4 days previous, fails to blow cold air AGAIN, one tends to lose one's patience. So here we are with another sweltering 90+ degree, humid weekend and the upstairs floor is yet again a jungle.
The problem with having those homeowner's insurance policies for things like HVAC and other electronic items in the house is that the repair companies that participate in these programs don't get paid as much as a normal house call. The flip side is it's steady work trickling into their business. But since they don't get their normal rate, they could give a fuck-all about trying to fix your problem. If it's not on th work order, good luck getting them to look at something even if it's a related issue.
When this happened last year and the lower floor AC had the same issue, it turned out to be a leak. But the guy refused to check the other AC unit since it wasn't on his work order. Now we know that there was a leak. When the guy came on Monday, he refused to check for a leak, instead he simply filled the unit with 3.5 pounds of coolant. And then Friday rolls along and the 250% humidity is back in my house. Since it's not deemed an "emergency" since the other unit works, hey won't send anyone out until Monday at the earliest to fix their fuckup.
I couldn't be madder. Or hotter. Literally and figuratively.

| Fear not, you have a good reason to be pissed off! Of course they won't send the same lame ass workman who didn't have the leak check on his little work order......otherwise you could give him a piece of your mind (oops, that might be a problem), maybe you could just bust his balls. |

He would roundhouse kick the repair guy in the chest, spilling most of the internal organs, which Chuck would then assemble into the world's first organic compressor, then use his icy glare to turn the man's blood into freon, and voila! But you know, that's Chuck. You do what you think best. |
