If you didn’t know where I lived in Chicago or the fact that I’m a Detroit Tigers fan, this post will mean nothing. I was reading this article today about my second favorite Tiger ever, Alan Trammell. He now is a bench coach for the Cubs and they mentioned he now lives in the New York building, which is about 4 blocks from Wrigley Field. It also happens to be the first place where Megan and I lived together. We were on the 32nd floor. He’s on the 33rd floor. Kind of cool even if it's a REMOTE connection to my history.
Oh, and if you’re wondering, my favorite Tiger was Lance Parrish. |

That is neat. I'm not sure I've heard a narrower brush with greatness since "My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who ..." but I think it's cool nonetheless! Favorite Tiger: Tom Brookens. P.S.: Greatest home uni. Ever.

Tom Brookens and his mustache anchored third base for a good portion of my childhood. Marty Castillo couldn't hold a candle to his legacy.

I have hugged and been hugged by Rich Aurilia (FYI, he was my favorite Giant for years, and he even came back to SF - photographic proof exists), and I've also touched Matt Cain more than to shake hands...(whee!)

But can Alan Trammell shoot a bottle rocket off the balcony and hit the building a block away? I thought not....

If memory serves me correctly (and it rarely does), the bottle rockets stopped just short of the neighboring buildings. :)
