It’s just now getting to be cool down here and finally feeling like fall.  One of our maple trees out front is just turning and I took a picture of this partially-changed leaf.

And for the sake of contrast, I placed the same leaf on one of our retaining walls.

Speaking of free-falling maple leafs, we're due for a hockey post! Notice I abstained from the easy cheap shot about the total gayness of today's post. Oops. P.S.: time for some new pine straw. P.P.S.: the leaf is very pretty. There, I said it.

I even abstained from making a post when my beloved Red Wings won their 4th Stanley Cup in 11 years. Time for me to make football fans mad!

Fuck hockey! There's still at least 3 innings of baseball to be played...<br>From Cooperstown NY, With Love...

(I miss my baseball.) Red is on the opposite side of the color wheel from green - one reason the image is so striking. Very nice. Don't try to fight the red, Green - this time of year it will always be the winner.

Speaking of red, the last 3 World Series winners (and 5 of the last 7) wear red uniforms.

Interesting observation about the uniforms James, and thanks for giving me an opportunity to say that one of the exceptions was the WHITE SOX! The other of course was the 203 Marlins, there's some Chicago connection to that team as well, what was it again?? .......................................................................................................... Even my fall loving wife agrees that this particular time of the year is the worst, when fall turns to winter. You get that bad cold (30s) when you're not used to it yet. Or you get the early season snow (right Erich?). Of course we're going to push 70 today, perfect trick or treating weather, so maybe I shouldn't complain.

Don't push the 70 year olds, they have weak hips and will move right in with you...
